Howard Fred West, 68, of Houston passed away on June 16, 2011 in Houston. He was born in Houston, Texas to parents, Findley Leland West, Sr. and Linda Fischer West, both of whom have preceded him in death. Fred was a devoted and loving father and grandfather. He was a loyal brother and friend. Among many special qualities, he will always be remembered for his individuality, immense generosity, and infectious laugh. He has touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Fred is survived by his daughter, Shannon West Zureich and husband Greg; Former wife and Special Friend, Pam Nabors; granddaughters, Zoey and Darby Zureich; brothers, Findley Leland West, Jr. and wife Marianne and John Wesly West and wife Michele; nieces and nephews, Brandon West and wife Christina, Maretta Scott and husband Jason and Carrie Bendele and husband Brad and numerous other relatives and a host of friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from five o;clock in the evening until eight o'clock at the Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home in Houston. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at ten o'clock in the morning in the Chapel of Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Horton officiating. Interment will follow at Earthman's Resthaven Cemetery in Houston.
