Jeffrey Scott Tipton Date of Birth: Sun, 09/14/1986 Date of Death: Sat, 02/11/2012
Jeffrey Scott Tipton, 25, passed away Saturday morning at the Memorial City Memorial Herman Hospital. Jeff was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Tipton of Houston, TX and brother of Chris Tipton. Grandparents were Frank Pickens and the late Juanita Pickens of Ft. Worth, TX and Harold Tipton and the late Rhoda Tipton of Shreveport, LA. Jeff had a heart transplant at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in 2006, and was a LifeGift Donor upon his death. The family would like to especially thank the Transplant Team at St. Luke’s, in particular Dr.Reynolds Delgado, who took excellent care of Jeff throughout his illness. After receiving his heart transplant, Jeffrey became a certified scuba diver. He felt free underwater and wanted to share the experience with everyone he knew. Last November,Jeff went on to graduate from the Harris County Sheriff's Department Citizen's Police Academy. He was able to accompany a Harris County Sheriff Deputy on a "Ride-Along" during his shift. This gave Jeff much pleasure. The family would like to request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Make a Wish Foundation. Jeff was a Wish Child, and would have wanted to share that experience with other critically ill children.

Don, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I had the sincerest pleasure of meeting this young man, as his spirit and gentle mannerisms made him the special young man he was. May God comfort you in your time of need and sorrow. Godspeed to you and your family my friend.

He was such a sweet man, wish I had gotten more time with him. We would have had a wonderful life together helping each other out with our health issues. He will be missed forever as I love him dearly.
